Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone after the 7-day grace period expires. All your data will be permanently removed from our systems.

In-App Account Deletion

If you can access the TripwiseGO app, this is the fastest and most secure way to delete your account.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the TripwiseGO app on your device
  2. Go to SettingsAccountDelete Account
  3. Read the deletion warning and information
  4. Enter your email address to confirm
  5. Provide a reason for deletion (optional but helpful)
  6. Confirm that you understand the consequences
  7. Submit your deletion request

What Happens Next

Your account will be scheduled for deletion in 7 days. During this grace period, you can cancel the deletion request at any time through the app.

Email-Based Deletion Request

Can't access the TripwiseGO app? No problem! You can request account deletion via email verification.

Submit Deletion Request

This must be the email address associated with your TripwiseGO account

This will open your email client with a pre-filled message or send automatically if configured.

How Email Verification Works

  1. Submit your account email address above
  2. Check your email for a verification link (expires in 24 hours)
  3. Click the verification link to confirm your deletion request
  4. Your account will be scheduled for deletion in 7 days
  5. You can cancel the deletion during the grace period

What Gets Deleted

Account deletion permanently removes all your data from our systems. Here's exactly what will be deleted:

Profile & Account Data

  • • Name, email, and profile picture
  • • Account settings and preferences
  • • Authentication tokens and sessions
  • • App usage analytics

Travel & Location Data

  • • Travel preferences and survey responses
  • • All itineraries and trip plans
  • • Bookmarks and liked destinations
  • • Location history and tracking data

AI & Chat Data

  • • Complete AI chatbot conversation history
  • • Chat preferences and settings
  • • AI-generated recommendations
  • • Conversation context and memory

Social & Shared Data

  • • Social connections and friend lists
  • • Shared content and collaborations
  • • Messages and communications
  • • Collaborative itineraries

Data Retained for Security (30 Days Only)

For security and fraud prevention purposes, we retain minimal data for 30 days after deletion:

  • IP addresses from login sessions
  • Login timestamps and audit logs
  • Account deletion confirmation records

This data is automatically purged after 30 days and complies with GDPR and Google Play policies.

7-Day Grace Period

We provide a 7-day grace period to protect against accidental deletions and give you time to change your mind.

During the Grace Period

  • Your account remains fully active and functional
  • You can cancel the deletion request at any time
  • All your data remains intact and accessible
  • You can still export your data

After the Grace Period

  • Account deletion becomes permanent and irreversible
  • All data is permanently removed from our systems
  • Account cannot be recovered or restored
  • You'll need to create a new account to use TripwiseGO

You can cancel your deletion request during the grace period through:
